6th Street

Arguably the most well known (and fun) street in Texas, the seven blocks of 6th Street between Congress and IH 35 is the center-piece for most of Austin's music and art festivals. Things to Know Before You Go to Sixth Street

• Local authorities shut down the street for pedestrians only on weekends and during festivals
• If you park your car on the street during the day or evening, it will be towed to allow for pedestrian use. Visitors should park off-street when planning to stay later than dinner
• 5th and 4th Street run parallel to 6th Street and offer progressively quieter entertainment options
