The Virginia Wine Experience

Long recognized for outstanding culinary offerings, The Omni Homestead Resort & Spa features the Virginia Wine Experience. Located near the resort’s grand Dining Room, the Virginia Wine Experience focuses solely on the wines of the Commonwealth, showcasing the history of winegrowing in Virginia from the founding of Jamestown in 1607 through today.

Here, guests can select from distinct wine flights or wines by the glass at the Tasting Parlor, with bottles available for purchase. Each month, a prominent Virginia winery is profiled, and guests have the opportunity to meet with the winery owner/vintner and enjoy an exclusive, private dinner which will be complemented with wines from the featured winery.

The Virginia Wine Experience offers ongoing special events, educational seminars, and tastings of some of Virginia’s most limited and unique wines.

The Tasting Parlor

Enjoy our thoughtfully curated white wine, red wine, reserve wines and unique and interesting wines. Each flight includes a tasting of five wines. Enhance your experience with our cheese and charcuterie board. Reservations are not required.

February's Featured Winery: Black Stallion Estate Winery Winemaker Weekend

Coppola Diamond Collection Prosecco
Featuring scents of citrus blossoms and exotic fruit and flavors of apple, citrus and white peach, this prosecco is imported directly from the Prosecco DOC in Italy. The Francis Coppola Diamond Collection Prosecco is crafted from select grapes grown in northeastern Italy, between the Adriatic Sea and the Dolomite Mountains. Enjoy on its own, with a meal, or as an aperitif.

'24 North Coast Sauvignon Blanc | Opens with vibrant, tropical aromas of mango, lemon-grass, and honeysuckle, complemented by flavors of lime, lemon, ripe tropical fruit, and jasmine. This wine offers bright acidity, light to
medium-body and a juicy, long finish. Enjoy on its own or pair with fresh seafood and green vegetables.

'23 North Coast Cabernet Sauvignon | This rich and refined wine does not require years of further aging to achieve ideal balance and can be enjoyed upon release. The wine opens with stunning aromas of raspberry, blackberry, and toasty notes of cedar; the palate carries bold, velvety flavors of dark cherry, juicy plum and a hint of baking spice. Intense, concentrated fruit and round tannins with brightly balanced acidity extends to an elegant finish with the right amount of grip.

'21 Gaspare Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon | An elegant and powerful wine that is iconic of the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley. The aromas of blackberry and blueberry also have a note of brown sugar and cedar. The flavors are dark fruit with ripe, fruit sweetness. The structure of this wine is balanced with tannins that are robust, but not too aggressive.

'23 Pinot Noir | Hailing from the Santa Lucia Highlands - one of the most prestigious California appellations for distinctive and layered Pinot Noir - the wine opens with fresh aromas of strawberry, blueberry and mocha; the palate carries balanced flavors of pomegranate, red cherry and cocoa. Round, soft tannins and plush, full body support its bright acidity, leading to a smooth,
long finish.
